We are researchers and practitioners from across Tayside with a shared interest in better understanding suicide. We are comprised of academics from the Universities of Dundee, Abertay, and St Andrews, and representatives from Police Scotland, Fire Scotland, Dundee and Angus Council, NHS Tayside, and local and national support agencies and charities including SAMH and Samaritans. We come from a diverse range of perspectives including ecology, fatality review, nursing, english literature, art, geography, philosophy, biostatistics, general practice, psychology, mental health, student support, public protection, and population health.
Our aims are to:
(1) Provide a forum for knowledge exchange via regular seminars and workshops, and an online repository and newsfeed.
(2) Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in order to better understand emotional distress and suicide.
(3) Improve the exchange of knowledge between those experiencing emotional distress and those who work to reduce its impact.
The TSRN is coordinated by Dr Fhionna Moore, Senior Lecturer in Psychology, University of Dundee. You can contact her on firstname.lastname@example.org.
